It is time to stop the groundless and mendacious attacks on Hungary.
The child protection law, which was democratically adopted together with the votes of the opposition, has been recently criticised by the leading politicians of several EU Member States. Many of them made rude and anti-democratic statements, thus crossing that particular red line. These disrespectful comments, driven by the wish to grab more power, all stem from a colonial past long believed to be gone and a false perception of superiority.
Meanwhile, the European Parliament plans to put pressure on Hungary with a statement of condemnation at its meeting on Wednesday, only because we want to protect children's and parents' rights by laws.
So far and no further
In accordance with the government decision regarding the aggressive and anti-democratic political attacks on Hungary, published in the Hungarian Official Gazette this morning, we will prevent the coordinated defamatory campaign.
